Dentistry for Dr Joanne brings her naturally creative mind and personality together with her passion for science. She attended Perth College Anglican School for Girls and worked at LifeCare Dental since 2000, before moving to Aria Dental in 2022.
Dr Joanne originally thought she would become a forensic scientist and studied broad-based science at the University of Western Australia, majoring in Microbiology and Anatomy and Human Biology. She then went on to complete her honours researching the role of a death gene in breast cancer before realising that her passion lay with dentistry.
To be sure that another five years of study would secure her dream job, Dr Joanne began her career at LifeCare as a Dental Nurse and continued in this role until she qualified as a dentist in 2007.
Dr Joanne is a big believer in professional development and has travelled far and wide to be internationally trained and up-to-date with the latest in dental research and development. As well as being qualified in sedation and implant dentistry she is also certified in teeth straightening systems such as Invisalign.
Personal development is equally as important as professional development and when Dr Joanne isn’t working, she is passionate about travel and loves nothing more than to experience new places, cultures and the culinary delights that come along with them.
To keep a well-balanced life Dr Joanne enjoys exploring the great outdoors by running along the river or beach or even doing yoga. She finds the peace and serenity of horse riding to be a perfect escape from city life.
