Missing a Tooth?
Tooth loss is a pretty common problem that lots of people face for different reasons. It can be from tooth decay, a random sporting accident, case of severe gum disease or a potentially failed root canal procedure. If left untreated, a gap in your smile does not only look unattractive, it can lead to oral health problems. The teeth adjacent to the ‘gap’ will often shift or tilt into the vacant gap space, this leads to instability in your other neighbouring teeth and then your bite will start to misalign leading to difficulty eating like normal. To compound the problem, over time, the bone where the root of the missing tooth use to be, starts to shrink away making the gap worse. So the loss of just a single tooth may seem like a small thing, but it can have dramatic effect on your oral health and can be fixed with a simple single tooth implants procedure.
What are Single Tooth Implants?
A single tooth implant is a fixed dental solution designed to replace one missing or decaying tooth. There are three parts to an implant, the fixture, a small titanium screw that is inserted into the jawbone, below the gum line, that acts as an artificial tooth root anchoring your new tooth replacement; the middle part is called the abutment, which is the part that connects the implant titanium screw to the new crown; the crown being your new artificial tooth. An implant is the ideal solution if you’ve lost or are losing one or more of your natural teeth.
The implant mimics the natural contours, shape and form of natural teeth. This is a fixed implant treatment, as opposed to a removable treatment, which means that you are not able to remove the implant from your mouth once fitted. The implant crown is screwed tightly on a tiny titanium screw that have been ‘implanted’ within your jawbone and the implant is fixed, can only be removed by your Aria Dental professional.
The fixed implant is a preferred long-term treatment option, a definitive, over other alternatives like traditional removable treatments to replace your missing tooth. With the aim to deliver high quality, natural tooth aesthetics to our Aria Dental patients, the Zirconia implant solution offers the most natural looking, feeling and functioning teeth result

Benefits of a Dental Implant
Dental implants are the preferred treatment option if you’re missing a tooth.
Single Tooth Implant Procedure
INITIAL CONSULT & DIAGNOSTICS
After a clear and informative discussion with Aria Dental’s specialist Prosthodontist, we require diagnostic records to be able to accurately create your implant treatment plan. This involves taking multiple impressions (either molds or digital scans) of your teeth to construct a study model for our specialty dental laboratory to design your new implant. We will also take intra-oral and extra-oral x-rays, CT cone beam scans and take numerous clinical photographs. These records are essential for the planning phase and to determine the most appropriate treatment plan for you.
This first procedure involves Aria Dental’s specialist Prosthodontist removing the decayed or unwanted tooth. A dental implant (tiny titanium screw) is then placed into the jawbone, in a process known as immediate implant placement. The surgery is completed with any necessary bone and tissue grafting repair. A precise impression of your jawline is then taken to design your crown/new tooth. In some instances, this may be done immediately and fitted on the same day. Normally an temporary ‘suck-down’ essix retainer or temporary crown is fitted to the implant screw (so you go home with a replacement tooth) and the process completed later (Step 3).
FINAL CERAMIC CROWN
After a period of healing of approx. 3 months you will return for the fitting of the final crown (made of hard, long lasting and aesthetic ceramic material). The design and manufacture would been completed by our expert laboratory technicians (who ensure everything is correct, based on your dental and facial features and aesthetic requirements), One of our Aria Dental implant experienced dentists will remove the temporary tooth and secure your definitive (final) new crown (and abutment) permanently. You will then be ready to go and show off your brand-new smile!
